Sensory Room

We have a brand-new sensory room in school ready to be used in September 2024! In a bustling environment of a school, filled with activity and noise, it can sometimes be overwhelming for certain learners. The creation of a sensory room provides a haven of calm and control within our school’s lively setting.

Our sensory room is a specially designed environment that caters to the sensory needs of a pupil, facilitating their participation in learning. It is a controlled, sensory focused space that is intentionally created to support the needs of each pupil. The benefit of the sensory room is to provide a tranquil space which can reduce a pupil’s stress and anxiety whilst developing sensory skills such as visual development and visual stimulation. Soft music can be played to provide auditory comfort and the room has tactile objects to engage a pupil’s sense of touch.

The sensory room will promote pupil’s development and well-being.
